How to claim UTAP Funding in 4 steps

4 Simple Steps!

  • Step 1: Register for UTAP eligible course
    - Register for any of our UTAP funded courses on our course page and make a placement fee to secure your seat in your preferred session.

  • Step 2: Become an NTUC Member
    - Apple for NTUC membership before your course start date (you need to maintain membership for the duration of the course and at point of making your claim)
    - Membership approval is immediate if you sign up via "MyNTUC" App (Download Here). In the app, go to "My Profile" > "Apply for Memberships"
    - NTUC Membership fees are payable. Please check NTUC website for fee updates. 

  • Step 3: Commence your course
    - All fees must be paid before start of class, any outstanding fees will lead to postponement of class. 
    - You must maintain at least 75% attendance and sit for test. 

  • Step 4: Submit your claims at the end of course
    - Fill in the [Request for Statement of Attendance] after completing your course. We'll provide the document within 7 working days. 
    - Login to your Singpass and submit UTAP claim with the documents within 6 months from course completion date. 
    - Regular NTUC members can claim up to 50% of course fees (capped at $250 per calendar year) Please check NTUC website for details. 
    - Claim amount will be paid to you directly from UTAP.

UTAP information & Union Members

Should trainees have queries on the UTAP funding scheme, they can email to UTAP Enquiry or use the Live Chat function to enquire on membership matters.
  • 1. Please ensure your membership is active before the course begins

  • 2. TROPIFAME will be able to provide students with a statement of attendence showing student's attendence rate and test completion and results on request. Request of form is required and we will format the statement accordingly. 

  • 3. NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must commence the course or complete the assessment within the UTAP approved period.

  • 4. NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must submit either certificate of completion of training and assessment or training attendance sheets showing at least 75% attendance for the course(s) and sit for all prescribed examination(s) if any 

  • 5. NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must submit claims via the UTAP system within 6 months after course/ assessment completion.

  • 6. NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must not claim full funding through company sponsorship or other types of funding. 

  • 7.NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must have paid-up NTUC membership before course/ assessment commencement, throughout the entire course/ assessment duration and at the point of claim.

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

The Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is supported by the NTUC Education and Training Fund (NETF) to help our NTUC members in skills upgrading and re-skilling.

NTUC members can enjoy the following course fee support –
(i) NTUC Members: Receive 50% support for unfunded course fees, up to $250 per year.
(ii) NTUC Members aged 40 and above: Receive Enhanced UTAP support of up to $500 per year.
(iii) NTUC Starter Members (aged 18-25): Receive 50% support for unfunded course fees, up to $200 per year.

NTUC Starter members can enjoy course fee support of $200 per qualifying member per year under UTAP-Lite.

What are Unfunded Course Fees?

Unfunded course fees refer to the remaining cost of a course after all other government subsidies, such as SkillsFuture Credits, have been applied.

Who can apply?

All NTUC members and NTUC Starter members can apply for UTAP and UTAP-Lite respectively.
However, the following criteria must be met to be eligible for UTAP/ UTAP-Lite: 

1. NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must commence the course or complete the assessment within UTAP approved period.
2. NTUC member/ NTUC Starter member must submit either certificate of completion of training and assessment or training attendance sheets showing at least 75% attendance for the course(s) and sit for all prescribed examination(s) if any.
